Kathmandu December 20.Blacktopping of a road from Baglung municipality-4, Kundule Chowk to Kathekhola rural municipality has begun. The 14-km road from Kundule Chowk to the border of Titaure Kathekhola rural municipality via Malika-Panchakot is being blacktopped. The Gandaki State Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development is upgrading the road stretch including the task of blacktopping at the cost of Rs 420 million. The up-gradation of road section is taking place as part of a plan to develop a regional ring road incorporating Baglung municipality and Kathekhola rural municipality, shared Gandaki State Assembly member Indra Lal Sapkota. “We have initiated the task of blacktopping regional ring road”, he said, adding, “The road up-gradation would bring changes in people’s lives”. The contract to this effect was awarded to Kashtamandap Construction Pvt Ltd to complete the renovation within two years. There are 36 strategic regional roads in 11 districts of Gandaki State.
