Kathmandu December 24 .Minister for Education Girirajmani Pokharel has said education should be linked with the development construction adding that quality reforms is not likely by the meager intervention of the past. Talking to the media at Bharatpur Airport today, Minister Pokharel said that integrated education policy has been unveiled for the first time in the country’s history and programmes to boost the community schools have been launched. The government is in the phase of implementation of those indicators introduced to enhance the quality of the community schools, he added. He viewed that the new education policy would systematize the sub-sectoral policies as well. “The roles of headmasters, teachers, community and local governments should be standard. Classrooms, school’s land and other physical infrastructures need to be improved,” Pokharel said. The Minister said that new styles should be adopted to systematically run the community schools and every school should be run on its own master plan. In a different note, Pokharel argued that the government was taking correct step to address the demands of the medical students. Meanwhile, at a programme in the capital city today, Minister Pokharel revealed that three new bills would be tabled in the Parliament during the ongoing winter session. Those bills are being tabled to align the school education, technical and vocational education and higher education in line with the new education policy. He also ruled out the rumours spread on the tussle between the federal government and local government regarding the management of education and quality education. Similarly, Pokharel said that the teachers across the country for the school education were redistributed by issuing the whitepaper and the shortfall of teachers would be fulfilled through vacancy announcement.
