Kathmandu May 20.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has seriously objected against the activities of India without uttering the word, India. Responding to questions, by lawmakers, about the government’s annual policy and program for the fiscal year 2077/78, PM Oli has said that the slogan of India’s state theme, “Satyameva Jayate” (Only truth triumphs), is not actually as meaningful as ‘victory of truth’ rather it is like a beast (lion), behaving in a crude, savage, or horrible way. It sounds as if, he has referred to India’s dictatorship by using the name ‘lion’ as a symbol.
The cabinet meeting, held on Monday, had decided to pass a map that includes Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulek encroached by India. This map has become the most important issue in this government’s policy and program.
The border dispute with India has become a parliament’s manifesto that has been passed by the members of the parliament.
In his address, Prime Minister Oli has given a lengthy reply on the various issues that range from the approval of the new map of Nepal ( Including Limbiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek) to the steps taken by the government to control the corona infection.
In his address, Prime Minister Oli has reminded the diplomatic initiatives taken by the government of Nepal to take back the territory occupied by India and the factual evidences that Nepal has, to the Sovereign Parliament.
Here are some of the edited points of Prime Minister Oli’s that have have been addressed in the Parliament.
These are the important issues raised by Prime Minister Oli in the parliament .
- The released map is not only for demonstration
PM oli says that the new map which includes Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek is not only for exhibition . This is done not to show any shrewdness or to express so-called nationalism. In fact it has been issued to take our territory back. ‘ It is our territory. We will take it back any how. ‘
- Geography must be returned back
PM Oli says, “We favor truth and justice. We will talk to India and get the land back through our diplomatic talks.” Despite the fact that the census conducted till 2018 BS, Nepal’s land was taken over. And now, the issue of Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek cannot be overlooked and this issue will not be overshadowed. A conclusion will be drawn. Encroached land will be returned back.
Adding to the context of Nepal’s land encroachment, Prime Minister Oli has said that country’s geography or population can be big or small, however we have immense nationality which is our main concern here.
3.Mocking India from the Parliament
As we know that, India’s state emblem which says “Satyameva Jayate” (“Only truth triumphs”), and this emblem also demonstrates the four-faced lions figure also . He then says, “I will certainly ask: will the truth really triumph? Or the lion?” .Nepal and Nepalese believe that India will not treat like ‘Singha mev Jayate’.
The four-faced lions are seen in the national emblem of India and Underneath this figure of loins there is written Satya mev Jayate . He says he believes and indeed, we all Nepalese believe in Satyamev Jayate. He adds he is going to ask India whether it is “Satya mev Jayate or Singh mev Jayate”?
The previous rulers were afraid to speak. On behalf of the present government, as the Prime Minister, I would like to inform you that we will not allow the issue of Lipulek, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani to be overshadowed. He says, “Our land has been occupied by India by encroaching on it.”
Therefore, justice and establishment of truth are necessary.
He adds, ‘ We are not aggressive, we are serious. We solve problems in friendly manner being based on factual evidence’.
4.Don’t agitate Nepal’s self-esteem:
Any neighboring countries should not make statements that agitate Nepal’s self-esteem. Isn’t it strange that this government was about to collapse and the ambassador of a certain country played a role and re-established it? In the current context of Nepal, no other country would have uttered such weak, fussy words on Nepal’s self-esteem. The people have made this government and therefore the people have elected it. Nepal is not made with blessings of any country. It is a manifestation of the will of the Nepalese people.
5.Parliament Work of MCC
MCC should be discussed within the parties. The conclusions of the parties may come out, it will continue.
6.The propaganda of corruption is nonsense
I am amazed at the questions of irregularities in the purchase of health products. It is my commitment not to take any interest in trade and other forms of unwanted ‘dealing’.
The department has canceled the purchase agreement on the basis of the existing law .It has done so to bring essential quality goods through a short process to face the corona epidemic.
It is not appropriate to preach in everything to those who are not liked. It is not an anti-corruption campaign to blame innocent people. The tendency to protest when a company does not receive the goods is not a good way. Errors are corrected. If there is any mischief, action will be taken. I have never heard of Omni but controversies are going on the same topic.
7.What kind of democracy………
He has talked about democracy. We are in favor of adhering to a comprehensive democracy with justice and equality in the country. We are not in favor of a superficial democracy.
He says, as there is a vacancy in the Constitutional Commission, he has tried to work faster by amending the working procedure of the council.
The suggestions of the parties have been withdrawn and the amendment can be brought in the parliament as per the need.
8.Abstinence from social media
He has expressed his distress toward the culture of Nepalese social media. There are lots of things that cannot be viewed or heard on social media. He has questioned how our culture is going on. He further adds that it is necessary to put forward a new concept in parliamentary practice.
9.Amendment of Constitution
A proposal to amend the constitution will be brought soon to the parliament regarding the provision of new map of Nepal including Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek.
He says he would like to make it clear that the amendment proposal related to Schedule 3 of the constitution will be brought soon to the parliament. Apart from the amendment proposal related to Schedule 3, there is no need to amend the constitution immediately. However, issues of immediate importance are important for the negotiations ie maps and land reclamation. I am confident that the proposed amendment to the constitution will be passed.
11 Policy Program Priority
The fight against corona and development work need to go side by side .It is really challenging .The government has given its first priority to prevention and control of corona in its policies and programs. It has become a matter of priority not only for Nepalese Government but also for other countries’ governments as well. At this time, we are fighting against Corona and using all our strength. It doesn’t mean we don’t do other important activities.
12.The future of the economy
Our effort was to ensure that no one in Nepal lost their life due to corona infection. Our attempt have been failed due to various reasons and 2 people died.
The government has focused on making the quarantine reliable by organizing isolation, testing more people, testing it. All in all, it is our main motto to arrange treatment activities well.
Decline in production and lower revenues have affected remittances as well as on the economy. With this reality the need to run life and society cannot be ignored by us. The government has taken various paths to prevent the economy from weakening.
