Nine Mahottari Residents Missing After Rasuwa Flash Flood

Kathmandu— At least nine individuals from the Mahottari district of Nepal are currently out of contact following a devastating flash flood that struck the Rasuwa district on Wednesday. The missing persons include employees of the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project and tourists visiting the area, according to officials at the District Administration Office, Mahottari. Reports indicate communication was lost with these individuals beginning around 9:00 AM local time.

Missing Individuals Identified

Among those unaccounted for is Saubhagya Bista, a mechanical engineer from Bardibas-3 in Mahottari. He has been out of contact since Wednesday morning and is employed at the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project. The District Administration Office released these details as they continue to gather information about the extent of the disaster and its impact on residents of Mahottari.

Authorities are continuing efforts to establish communication with the missing individuals and assess the full scope of the damage caused by the flash flood.
