Kathmandu— The House of Representatives (HoR) convened at 1:00pm today, with Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs presenting the sixth annual report of the Commission for Indigenous Nationalities. Additionally, Nepali Congress leader Bhishma Raj Angdambe introduced a motion of public importance focusing on land rights for marginalized communities.

Annual Report Presentation

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs presented the sixth annual report of the Commission for Indigenous Nationalities for the fiscal year 2081/82. The report details initiatives and progress made in addressing issues faced by indigenous communities across Nepal.

Motion on Land Rights

Bhishma Raj Angdambe, parliamentary party leader of the Nepali Congress, introduced a motion of public importance aimed at identifying, protecting, and rehabilitating landless individuals, squatters, and dwellers in unorganized spaces. The proposal also calls for compensation, basic health services, food security, and schooling for children in these communities.

Supporting Angdambe's initiative are Ain Bahadur Mahar, Yubraj Dulal, and Aren Rai.
