Kathmandu— Rabindra Mehata, a youth injured during a firing incident in Kaptangunj on July 26, died while under medical care at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. He was initially treated in Biratnagar before being referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.

Bechan Prasad Mehata, Chairperson of the Devangunj Rural Municipality, expressed deep sorrow over Rabindra's death. 'The news has brought immense grief to our community,' he said, citing family sources for confirmation.
Chairperson Mehata emphasized that the incident has left a profound impact on the local area, with residents demanding a thorough investigation and justice.
Investigation Demanded
Local resident Bibek Mehata reported that Rabindra's death brings the total number of fatalities from the Kaptangunj incident to three. He stressed the importance of holding those responsible accountable, stating, 'We need a fair investigation and appropriate compensation for the bereaved families.'
