Kathmandu— The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) will operate as a pressure group to push for greater accountability and neutrality within key Indian institutions such as the political system, judiciary, media, and Election Commission. Founder Abhijeet Dipke emphasized that public support is crucial in restoring faith in these bodies.

CJP's Role as a Pressure Group

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), stated during an interview with media outlets on Wednesday that the party will function primarily as a pressure group. He explained, "For now, CJP will be a pressure group because what India needs right now is a pressure group." According to Dipke, people have lost faith in institutions such as the political system, judiciary, and media. The movement's support extends beyond education reform, indicating a broader need for public engagement and pressure to restore accountability and neutrality.

Supporting Jharkhand Students

Dipke also expressed solidarity with students in Jharkhand who are protesting alleged irregularities in competitive examinations. He assured that the CJP would visit the state if necessary, stating, "We will definitely go to Jharkhand; we stand with the students who are protesting there, and we support every one of their demands." The party plans to discuss strategies for strengthening its movement across India during a two-day conclave in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
