Venugopal's Accusations Against Government

Congress MP KC Venugopal accused the government of avoiding parliamentary debates by not addressing issues raised by opposition parties. He specifically mentioned the use of force against protesting students and the alleged embezzlement at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, questioning why these matters were not being discussed in Parliament.

Venugopal also pointed out that the government was not willing to discuss other significant public issues such as ethanol blending and statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that the government's reluctance to address these concerns reflects a broader issue of avoiding parliamentary proceedings.

Opposition MPs' Protests

Earlier in the day, opposition MPs including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra marched from the Gandhi statue at Prerna Sthal to Makar Dwar in Parliament. They protested against Union Home Minister Amit Shah over police actions against CJP protestors on July 20th, allegations of embezzlement related to Ayodhya Ram Mandir donations, and other issues.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra demanded strict accountability from the central government regarding the alleged use of force against student protesters. She questioned who authorized the use of lathi charges and pellet guns, emphasizing that India is a democratic country where those in public office must take full responsibility for their actions.
