Kathmandu— Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the Congress, Communist Party of India (CPI), and Samajwadi Party (SP) of holding an 'anti-Lord Ram' stance during a heated debate in Parliament on Wednesday. He highlighted their opposition to the construction of the Ayodhya Ram Temple and demanded that they apologize for what he termed as an insult to Lord Ram.

Opposition's Protests Against Temple Construction

Rijiju accused the Congress, CPI, and SP of consistently opposing the existence of Lord Ram and protesting against the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He pointed out that during the temple’s construction, opposition members wore black bands to show their disagreement with the project.

The minister emphasized that these protests have left the government deeply saddened and demanded a public apology from the opposition parties for what he described as an insult to Lord Ram.

Meeting on Delimitation Bill

Earlier in the day, a meeting was held between government and opposition leaders in Parliament to discuss the Delimitation Bill. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju sought to know the stance of opposition parties on this bill.

The meeting, which lasted nearly 50 minutes, took place in the room of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi amidst ongoing parliamentary deadlock.
