The incident occurred at Khairhani municipality-1 when a bus traveling towards Bardibas collided with an oncoming motorcycle. Details of the Accident
The accident took place on Saturday in Chitwan district, specifically at Khairhani municipality-1. A bus, registered with plate number Ba Pra 03-001 Kha 2773, was traveling from Narayangadh to Bardibas when it collided with a motorcycle bearing the registration number Ba Pra 01-015 Pa 3385. The motorcyclists were heading in the opposite direction at the time of the impact.
Victims' Identities
The deceased have been identified as a man, approximately 32 years old, who was operating the motorcycle, and a woman, around 26 years old, riding as a pillion passenger. Their full names and addresses remain unconfirmed at this time. Both victims succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment at Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur.
Police Investigation
Following the accident, police took bus driver Ajay Kumar Maskey, 51, of Hariwan municipality-8 in Sarlahi district, into custody. Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bhushan Yadav, information officer for the District Police Office Chitwan, confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision and any potential contributing factors.
Authorities continue their investigation into the accident, with efforts focused on confirming the identities of the victims and establishing a clear understanding of the events leading up to the crash.
