Kathmandu— A shooting that took place early Sunday morning at a rave in the northern Swiss canton of Aargau left one person dead and five others injured. The victims, all residents of Switzerland including an Italian citizen named Maria Spinelli, were struck during the event held at the horse racing track in Aarau’s Schachen district. Police are still searching for potentially more than one suspect.

Victims and Injuries

A 22-year-old woman died of her injuries at the scene, while four men and one woman between the ages of 24 to 27 were taken to hospitals with varying degrees of injury severity. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni identified Spinelli as an Italian citizen and expressed condolences for her death along with thoughts for two other injured Italians.

Investigation and Manhunt

Aargau cantonal police have deployed all available forces in the ongoing manhunt. Police spokesperson Bernhard Graser stated that the search is continuing nonstop at full speed, but they have no information on possible motives or where the suspect(s) might be located. The shooting took place around 2:30 a.m., and authorities are still investigating potential links to the crime.

Community Response

The Aargau Racing Club, which runs the horse racing track where the event was held, expressed shock at the incident. They extended their deepest sympathies to those affected and thanked emergency responders for their professional work on the scene. Swiss DJ Tekibo, who performed at the rave, also shared his heartbreak over the tragedy.
