Kathmandu— Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Egypt set an example of friendship, solidarity, and coordination among developing countries. In a written speech upon arriving in Cairo for a state visit at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Xi noted their strong political trust, fruitful cooperation, and effective coordination on multilateral issues.
Historical Friendship
Xi highlighted that China and Egypt are both ancient civilizations with a traditional friendship that has endured for thousands of years. Over the past 70 years since establishing diplomatic relations, the two countries have stood by each other through changes in international and regional situations.
Leadership Exchange
During his visit, Xi will engage in an in-depth exchange with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on China-Egypt relations, comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, and issues of common concern at the international and regional levels. The leaders aim to draw up a blueprint for further developing their comprehensive strategic partnership.
