Over 11 Billion Rupees Collected in Nepal Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund

Kathmandu— The Nepal government has collected Rs 11 billion 556 million 26 thousand 971 in the Prime Minister Disaster Rescue Fund and the Prime Minister Relief Fund as financial support for victims of floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli areas continues to grow, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers said on Sept 5. The government has already released one billion rupees from the fund for flood-affected areas, with Rs 8 billion 625 million 15 thousand 518 held in nine commercial banks and an additional USD 1,98,37,695 deposited in dollar accounts at Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank.

Donations Continue To Flow In

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers said the flow of financial support for the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli flood victims is increasing. The combined balance in the Prime Minister Disaster Rescue Fund and the Prime Minister Relief Fund stands at Rs 11 billion 556 million 26 thousand 971.

Funds Already Disbursed

The government has already released one billion rupees from the fund for the flood-affected areas.

Bank Holdings And Foreign Currency

According to the OPMCM, Rs 8 billion 625 million 15 thousand 518 is held in nine commercial banks. An additional USD 1,98,37,695 has been deposited in dollar accounts at Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers provided the figures as donations for the flood victims continue to come in.
