Kathmandu May 6.

The cabinet meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, is concluded with the decision to extend the nationwide  lockdown till the 5th of Jestha (May 18) .

The cabinet meeting has decided to extend the lockdown again by 10 days. Earlier, a meeting of the High Level Coordinating Committee that had held on Tuesday also suggested for the extension of the lockdown.  The modalities of lockdown were also forwarded amid this meeting. Prime Minister Oli says corona infected people are increasing rapidly in India and therefore, we cannot ease the lockdown immediately.

The previous announcement of the lockdown is up to 25th of Baishak. This added lockdown period is ending tomorrow. Corona infected patients are increasing in Nepal as well.

When the lockdown started, only two people were infected with corona in Nepal, but now it has reached 82 in number.
