Kathmandu June 17:
A 14-year-old boy who had gone missing in a landslide occurred at Kahule of Durlung in Kushma Municipality-3 in the district since Saturday night was found dead this morning. The lifeless body of local Jenish BK was retrieved this morning near his house. Security forces and locals had searched him for three days since the incident but in vain. Help of a sniffer dog from the Gandaki State Office Pokhara was sought to trace the state of the missing one and finally his body was recovered this morning, according to local Prabhu Gurung. The landslide triggered by a heavy rainfall for around two hours last Saturday had buried nine members of two families. The landslide struck their homes from above the hills. Earlier, the bodies of Tul Bahadur Thapa, 53, his spouse Min Kumari Thapa, 52, daughter Dipa, 34, granddaughter Bibisha Thapa, 11, and grandsons Samrat, 15 and Bibek, 17 were recovered from the landslide debris. Similarly, Kamala BK, 28 and her daughter Pramisha, 8 were confirmed to have died in the accident while Kamala’s son Jenish had been missing. Last rites of all the victims except Jenish were conducted Monday.
