Chinese killed by falling boulder

Kathmandu June 18:
A person has died and another one has been injured after they were hit by falling boulder at Marsyangdi rural municipality-6. Both were workers at the 30 Megawatts capacity Ngandi Hydropower Project at the rural municipality. They were travelling on a truck (Ba 2 Pa 7198) from the Project camp to the dam site for the project’s work when a falling boulder hit the truck. The driver of the truck Wu Baksi, who was critically injured in the incident died under treatment this morning, the Project’s public relations officer Bijaya Gurung said. The boulder has also damaged the truck. Project’s engineer Lu Chyang, who also received injuries in the incident, is currently undergoing treatment at Model Hospital in Besisahar. Both are Chinese nationals. Wu Baksi, who suffered serious injuries in his knee and head, died while being treated at the Hospital, the project stated. Preparations are being made to take the deceased and the injured to Kathmandu.
