Kathmandu— On Monday, opposition leaders staged a protest at the Parliament premises in New Delhi, questioning the absence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and demanding his accountability on several issues. The protesting members, including Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, gathered near the entrance with banners and placards.
Protest Demands Accountability
The protesters raised slogans such as 'Amit Shah Jawab Do' (Amit Shah, give an answer) and 'Amit Shah kahan gayab hain?' (Where has Amit Shah disappeared?), demanding answers from the Home Minister. They also held placards with slogans like 'Chanda chor, gaddi chord' (Donation thief, leave the throne), targeting the government over allegations of embezzlement in the Ram Mandir donation case.
Issues Raised During Protest
The opposition leaders are set to demand a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding police actions against protesters during a demonstration on July 20. They also intend to raise concerns about the alleged theft of donations meant for the Ram Mandir construction.
Congress MP KC Venugopal told ANI, 'We will continue pressing for the Home Minister's explanation in the House… on the lathi-charge and the firing on Delhi students.'
