Jharkhand Students Continue Hunger Strike Over Exam Irregularities

ABC NEWS

Kathmandu— In Jharkhand, students protesting alleged irregularities in competitive exam recruitment tests have intensified their hunger strike. Despite entering its third day, the state government remains unresponsive to demands for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry and the resignation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Health Deterioration Among Hunger Strikers

Protesters are experiencing severe health issues as their hunger strike continues. Rahul Kranti, a protesting student, told ANI that his health is deteriorating rapidly and he feels dizzy when standing up. Another protester, Devendra Nath Mahato, emphasized the need to conserve energy by speaking minimally.

Government's Response and Claims

Jharkhand Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore dismissed claims of a paper leak, stating that irregularities stem from backdoor appointments made through improper means. He urged the opposition to cooperate with the government for a swift resolution.

Kumar added that the decision to blockade the Legislative Assembly was taken after initial contact with government officials failed to yield positive results.
