Deendayal Port Authority Launches Tiranga Yatra to Kick Off National Celebrations

Kathmandu— Deendayal Port Authority commenced its 'Har Ghar Tiranga' celebrations on Sunday with a Tiranga Yatra through the Port Township in Gopalpuri, Gandhidham. Led by Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh, the procession brought together port officials, employees, CISF personnel, students, and local community members to express national pride through the display of the Tricolour.

A Collective Expression of Patriotism

The Tiranga Yatra transformed the Port Township into a vibrant spectacle as participants carried the National Flag through the streets. The atmosphere was marked by patriotic slogans and the spirit of Vande Mataram, reflecting a sense of unity and devotion among the diverse group of participants.

In addition to port employees and security personnel, the event saw active involvement from school students and members of the Deendayal Mahila Shakti Kendra (DMSK), bridging the gap between the port fraternity and the local community.

The Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

The initiative is part of the broader 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The campaign encourages citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes to foster a personal connection with the Tricolour and honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters.

This year's celebrations are set to place a special emphasis on commemorating 150 years of 'Vande Mataram.' The campaign aims to reinforce the flag as an embodiment of India's sovereignty and shared national identity.

Upcoming Commemorative Activities

The celebrations are expected to expand across districts, blocks, and panchayats through a variety of organized events. Planned activities for the campaign include Tiranga rallies, exhibitions, concerts, bike and cycle rallies, and tricolour lighting of significant locations.

Other scheduled programs include Rangoli competitions and the popular 'Selfie with Tiranga' initiative. A special theme, 'Tiranga Salute to the Spirit of Vande Mataram,' will also guide several of the upcoming activities.

The campaign will continue with the hoisting of the National Flag at various households and government offices throughout the designated period.
