Kathmandu— Two children were killed and two adults injured Saturday when a Ukrainian drone struck Russia’s Krasnodar Region, according to Governor Veniamin Kondratyev. The attack targeted the Yeysk district, damaging homes, civilian infrastructure, and sparking a fire at a local port enterprise. Russian authorities report intercepting hundreds of drones during a large-scale overnight raid, but casualties were not prevented.

Attack Details

Governor Kondratyev announced the deaths on Telegram, describing the strike as a “vile and cynical” act by the Kiev regime. He expressed condolences to the families affected, acknowledging that no words could alleviate their grief. Emergency services are currently working at multiple impact sites within the residential area of Yeysk district.

Regional Response

Following the attack, authorities in the Yeysk district declared a day of mourning and cancelled all entertainment events. District head Roman Bublik stated that Russian forces successfully repelled the mass drone attack, downing most of the unmanned aerial vehicles. He also conveyed his condolences to the victims’ families and assured them that those injured would receive comprehensive assistance.

Russian Military Claims

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported a large-scale drone raid targeting multiple regions overnight. The ministry claimed its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 457 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs, including those over Krasnodar Region, the Black Sea, and the Sea of Azov. Drone debris also struck an enterprise at the local port, sparking a fire, according to Governor Kondratyev.

Further details regarding the attack are expected as emergency services continue their work and investigations proceed.
