Kathmandu— Nepal's House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled to meet at 1:00 pm today to address a series of legislative proposals, with relevant ministers prepared to answer questions from lawmakers. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, acting on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, will propose the First Amendment Bill, 2083—focused on remuneration and services for constitutional office bearers—be sent to committee for review. Several other bills concerning passports, human trafficking, and mining are also slated for discussion.

Legislative Agenda

The parliamentary session will center around four key amendment bills. The First Amendment Bill, 2083, regarding the remuneration and services of constitutional office bearers, is expected to be forwarded to committee by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on behalf of Prime Minister Shah.

Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal will present a proposal concerning the Passport (First Amendment) Bill, 2083, also for detailed committee review. Additionally, Minister Sita Badi is set to propose sending the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) (First Amendment) Bill, 2083, for further deliberation, while Minister Gauri Kumari will seek approval to send the Mines and Minerals Bill, 2083, to the appropriate committee.

Committee Meetings

Alongside the HoR session, five parliamentary committees are also scheduled to meet today. These include the International Relations and Tourism Committee, the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, the Infrastructure Development Committee, the Legislative Management Committee, and the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee.

The bills will now proceed to committee-level examination following approval by the House of Representatives.
