Kathmandu— A sudden flash flood on the Bhotekoshi River in Nepal’s Rasuwa district injured thirteen people who are now being treated at health facilities in Kathmandu, officials said. The incident occurred this morning, and those rescued were transported from Bidur Municipality-5 of Nuwakot to receive care at National Trauma Centre and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Maharajgunj.

Injured Individuals Identified

Among the injured who have been identified are Bhakta Bhandari, 42; Sita Bhandari, 41; Bibek Kumal, 24; Tej Bahadur Tamang, 34; Pemba Tamang, 48; Kushal Magar, whose age is currently unknown; Min Bahadur Shrestha, 33; Girilal Budathoki, 40; Rupak Roka, 23; Sujan Basnet, 35; and Sushant Shrestha, 23. The identity of one additional injured person remains unconfirmed.

Medical Treatment Locations

The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at two Kathmandu hospitals: the National Trauma Centre and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), located in Maharajgunj. District Police Range Kathmandu spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Thapa, confirmed that all rescued persons were brought to Kathmandu for medical attention.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation following the flash flood event.
