In a message shared on social media, Shah acknowledged the crucial role played by the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force Nepal in rescue and relief efforts. The government has emphasized its commitment to the safety and well-being of these personnel and their families.

Prime Minister's Message

In a message shared on a social media platform, Prime Minister Balendra Shah expressed gratitude to security personnel working in flood-affected areas. He stated, 'Millions of people have been feeling safe during the hour of crisis due to your sacrifice, dedication and indomitable courage. This contribution of each security person deputed in the field will be highly appreciated.' The government has also assured that it will not compromise on the service, safety, and facilities of security personnel. Shah further thanked the families of security personnel for their support during the crisis.

Rescue and Relief Operations

Over 13,300 people have been rescued so far from flood-hit areas through joint efforts of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force Nepal. Security personnel have been working round the clock to manage bodies with sensitivity, prevent the spread of infectious diseases, and encourage flood-affected people at camps. The Prime Minister highlighted the challenges faced by security personnel, noting the difficult geographical terrain and adverse weather conditions. He also mentioned that 9,287 army personnel and 7,975 police personnel are currently deployed in flood-affected areas. The Armed Police Force Nepal has been actively deployed in direct search and rescue operations, even taking risks in tough terrain and raging rivers.

Government Support and Coordination

The government has established various command posts and rescue teams to coordinate efforts in the affected areas. At the Maithil Barrack in Trishuli Battar, Nuwakot, a 'Forward Headquarters' and 'Emergency Medical Rescue Team' have been established. Similarly, a 'Tactical Headquarters' and 'Forward Medical Team' have been set up at the Dhunche Barrack in Rasuwa. These teams are working in difficult terrain and managing search and rescue operations in tunnel areas of power projects. The Armed Police Force Nepal has deployed its Special Search and Rescue Team, canine team, and other rescue units. Additionally, the army has accelerated the construction of Bailey bridges and road clearing to facilitate immediate movement.

The government continues to coordinate efforts to manage the flood situation and ensure the safety and well-being of security personnel and the affected population.
