Kathmandu— On Monday, the Congress high command approved the expansion of the Karnataka cabinet led by D. K. Shivakumar, adding 12 new ministers and retaining eight incumbents. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for 4:05 PM at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru, with Gayathri Shanthegowda being the only woman among the newly appointed ministers.
New Cabinet Members Announced
The list of new cabinet members includes PM Narendraswamy, Shivaraj Tangadagi, Rudrappa Lamani, KS Basavanthappa, B Nagendra, T Raghumoorthy, BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan, Rizwan Arshad, Santosh Lad, Madhu Bangarappa, Putturangashetty, Mankala Vaidya, Ajay Singh, N. Chaluvaraya Swamy, KM Shivalinge Gowda, HC Balakrishna, Gayathri Shanthegowda, Basavaraj Rayareddi, Vijayanand Kashappanavar, and Laxman Savadi.
Key Legislative Positions Filled
In addition to the cabinet expansion, key positions in the Karnataka Legislature were also approved. G. S. Patil will serve as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, A. S. Ponnanna as Deputy Speaker, Saleem Ahmed as Chairperson of the Legislative Council, and Umashree as Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council.
