Kathmandu— The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a warning for moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. The monsoon wind continues its impact across Nepal today, with low pressure near the Tarai region, increasing the risk of flash floods, landslides, and soil erosion.

Weather Forecast Details

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, cloudy conditions are expected throughout Nepal today. The forecast predicts moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning in many hilly regions. Specific areas at risk include parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as Lumbini and Sudurpaschim’s hilly and Terai regions.

Safety Precautions Advised

Residents are advised to exercise caution in areas where heavy rainfall is predicted. The Department urges people to stay informed with regular updates from their weather service to ensure safety during the monsoon season. "Everyone should remain vigilant and take necessary precautions," said a spokesperson for the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
