Kathmandu— On Wednesday, a Smart Dragon-3 carrier rocket successfully launched from the waters off east China’s Shandong Province, deploying two Oriental Smart Eye hyperspectral satellites into their planned orbits. The rocket blasted off at 10:38 AM Beijing Time from near Haiyang city under the supervision of the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

Successful Offshore Launch

The launch, conducted by the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, represents a significant advancement in China’s maritime space capabilities. The Smart Dragon-3 rocket carried two hyperspectral satellites named Oriental Smart Eye 01 and 02, which are designed to enhance Earth observation through advanced imaging techniques.
