Kathmandu— On Wednesday, Israeli ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Arie Bass visited the Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC), Dhanraj Acharya, to discuss bilateral relations between Nepal and Israel. The meeting focused on areas such as tourism, agriculture, technical education, and job creation for Nepali youth.

Bilateral Relations and Tourism

During the courtesy call, both parties discussed the potential for direct flights between Pokhara and Israel to boost tourism. They also explored opportunities for cultural exchanges and further cooperation in the aviation sector. The ambassador highlighted that Nepal could benefit from Israeli expertise in modern agriculture systems.

Agriculture and Education

Mayor Acharya requested assistance from Ambassador Bass to create new job opportunities for Nepali youth through technical capacity building programs. He emphasized the potential for cooperation between the two countries in areas such as modern agricultural technology, skills development, employment promotion, and knowledge transfer.

In response, Ambassador Bass informed that Nepali youths were making significant progress under the 'learn and earn' program launched by the Israeli government, which combines education with practical work experience in agriculture.
