Prior to these positions, Scharf worked as a federal prosecutor and in private legal practice. He clerked for two Federal Appeals Court judges after earning degrees from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

Warrington's Departure

David Warrington is leaving his position as White House counsel to pursue opportunities in the private sector, according to Trump’s announcement. Before serving as counsel, Warrington acted as Trump’s personal attorney and legal advisor during the 2024 presidential campaign.

Trump's Praise for New Counsel

In his Truth Social post, Trump described Scharf as “Tough, Strong, and Smart!” He also emphasized Scharf’s dedication to the country and respect for the law, expressing confidence in his ability to excel as White House counsel.
