German Authorities Evacuate Buildings Near Train Station After Suspicious Object Found

Kathmandu— Authorities in the southern German state of Bavaria evacuated buildings near a train station Thursday after discovering a suspicious object on the railway tracks. The evacuation was prompted by initial fears that the item might contain explosives, leading to road and rail closures around the town of Treuchtlingen. Investigators later determined the object wasn't an explosive but continued work at the scene.

Initial Discovery and Evacuation

A technician discovered the suspicious item in the track bed at the entrance to the station in Treuchtlingen. As a precaution, authorities immediately began evacuating nearby buildings to ensure public safety. Police urged people to avoid the area and seek alternative routes due to the ongoing investigation.

Investigation and Clearance

Specialists utilized X-ray technology and a robot to examine the object more closely. Following thorough analysis, investigators determined that the item did not contain explosives. Despite this finding, criminal police continued their work at the scene to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

Ongoing Disruptions to Transport

Road and rail closures remained in place as of Thursday afternoon while the investigation proceeded. Regional train services were affected, with trains terminating early at alternative stations. Replacement buses and large-capacity taxis were deployed to accommodate passengers. Long-distance services were diverted through Ingolstadt to minimize disruption.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released further details about the object or its origin.
