Kathmandu— At least two people were killed and several more wounded, including three police officers, after a shooting incident at a downtown Minneapolis apartment building on Wednesday. The suspected gunman has also died according to Garret Parten, a spokesman for the police department. Officers responded to a call about the shooting just after 4:30pm local time (22:30 GMT), finding victims minutes after entering the high-rise.

One person died at the scene, while four others were taken to hospital, where one later succumbed to injuries. Three police officers, including two who were shot, were also taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and are reported to be in stable condition. The exact circumstances of how the shooter died remain unclear.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz thanked emergency services for their swift response and stated that state officials were assisting local law enforcement.
