Kathmandu— Two workers, Sanjay Sah and Kabir Maharjan, were rescued alive from the Trishuli III A hydro power project tunnel after being trapped since the Bhotekoshi flash flood on August 26, with search and rescue operations ongoing for others believed still inside the tunnel.
Rescue Operation Underway
The two workers, Sanjay Sah, a mechanical foreman, and Kabir Maharjan, a mechanical supervisor, were trapped in the tunnel following the Bhotekoshi flash flood that struck on August 26.
Nepali Army spokesperson Raja Ram Basnet confirmed that Maharjan has been flown to Kathmandu for medical treatment while Sah is receiving care at a hospital in Trishuli.
Search and rescue teams continue to work to locate and rescue additional workers believed to be trapped inside the tunnel.
