The people from neighboring district of Hetauda have been elated after the announcement of Hetadua as the State capital. They are happy to have the Bagmati State capital with the federalism in place. A resident of Madi municipality-7, Mahadatta Kafle, said the Chitwan people have been very happy over the recent announcement of Bagmati State capital. Federal lawmaker from Chitwan constituency-2, Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel, said as Makwanpur is a small place, the neigbouring Chitwan will also reap tremendous benefits from it. The people visiting the State capital are obviously likely to visit the nearby tourist destination-Chitwan. Hetauda is just an hour bus ride from Bharatpur. Pokhrel reminded the neighbouring places of any capital city have thrive as big cities in the world, so will be Chitwan. State Assembly member, Gita Wagle, who had been advocating for making Hetauda the State capital, said Hetadua was declared permanent State capital after the Nepali Congress and ruling NCP made firm stand for it. It is a matter of happiness to have Hetauda as a common place for all to make the State capital, she added, reminding that then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had announced Hetauda as the provisional capital of State-3. Similarly, NCP Chitwan Chair Yam Bahadur Pariyar viewed that although the Bagmati State capital could be elsewhere from the geographical viewpoint, Hetauda is best fit as per federalism. Vice-Chair of FNCCI in Bagmati State, also said though Hetadua is a geographically small place to be the State capital, neighboring Chitwan is the first after Hetauda to take direct benefit from it. Newly elected Chair of Chamber of Commerce Chitwan, Raju Shrestha, hoped that Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati State will help thrive industries and enterprises.
