Fatal Shooting Claims Lives at Fast-Food Restaurant in Idaho

ABC NEWS

Kathmandu— Multiple individuals lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries during a shooting incident at a fast-food restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon. The suspect is deceased, according to local officials, who are now working to identify the individual and determine the motive behind the attack.

Shelter-in-Place Orders Lifted

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks addressed reporters on Saturday evening, stating that the threat to the community had been neutralized. Josh Palmer, the public information officer for Twin Falls, confirmed that all shelter-in-place instructions were lifted after the gunman was found dead at the scene.

Investigation Underway

Law enforcement officials are investigating whether a lone gunman was responsible for the attack or if other individuals may have been involved. The suspect's identity and motive remain unclear as investigators continue their work. Video footage from the incident shows patrons and staff running frantically into the parking lot amid several shots being fired.

Impact on Local Community

The shooting occurred at a fast-food restaurant that had been operational for only one week, located in a high-density commercial area near hotels and retail establishments. The incident has added to a broader pattern of public shootings across the United States, forcing civilians to flee everyday locations such as food festivals, parades, places of worship, and community gatherings.

Law enforcement temporarily cordoned off surrounding roads and the Perrine Bridge following the shooting. Officials advised the public to be cautious about misinformation circulating on social media.
