Kathmandu— Public movement and daily activities are gradually returning to normal in the Madhesh province of Nepal after a period of unrest. The region had remained tense since Thursday when Ganesh Yadav died during security firing at a protest in Golbazar, Siraha. On Friday, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung reached an agreement with the victim's family, easing tensions and allowing for the withdrawal of curfew orders.
Agreement Eases Tensions
Following the death of Ganesh Yadav during a protest over an incident in Kaptangunj, Sunsari, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung met with the victim's family on Friday. The two parties reached a written agreement that helped ease tensions and restore normalcy to the region. Local authorities have since withdrawn curfew orders from areas in Dhanusha, Siraha, and Saptari.
According to local resident Binod Shah, transport services are now resuming operations, and markets are reopening across affected regions.
Authorities Urge Calm
The district administration has urged the public not to believe in any misinformation or propaganda. They have called for social harmony and unity among all concerned bodies to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Local authorities are working diligently to ensure that life returns to normal as quickly as possible, while also addressing concerns raised by community members.
