Kathmandu— Leaders of the India Bloc convened a floor strategy meeting at the Parliament House today, responding to mounting pressure from opposition parties demanding government statements on several contentious issues. The discussions come in the wake of recent confrontations over alleged pellet gun use against protesters and accusations of Ram Mandir donation theft.

Opposition Demands Government Statements

During a Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting yesterday, opposition leaders pressed for statements from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the alleged use of pellet guns by Delhi Police against protesters at Jantar Mantar on July 20. Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav emphasized the party's demand for a parliamentary discussion on the Ram Mandir donation theft issue, an ongoing concern that has been raised repeatedly in previous BAC meetings.

Criticism of Government Inaction

Samajwadi MP Rajeev Rai expressed frustration over the government’s reluctance to address these issues. He noted that opposition MPs have been raising concerns through non-adjournment motions but feel ignored by the administration. Rai criticized the Home Minister for avoiding parliamentary sessions despite daily appearances at Parliament, suggesting a lack of genuine engagement with pressing national issues.
