Kathmandu— China is set to face a challenging month of August as meteorologists forecast the arrival of 2 to 3 typhoons, each expected to be more intense than usual. The National Climate Center warns that these storms will coincide with elevated temperatures and increased rainfall across much of the country.

Typhoon Intensity Forecast

According to Jia Xiaolong, deputy head of the National Climate Center, China is anticipating a higher intensity of typhoons this August compared to historical averages. The forecast predicts that these storms will bring notable impacts and potentially cause significant damage due to their increased strength.

Heatwaves and Rainfall

In addition to the anticipated typhoon activity, Jia warned about four pronounced heatwaves expected across China this month. Regions such as northeast, north, east, central, south, southwest China, Xizang, and Xinjiang are also forecasted to receive more rainfall than usual, with six notable rain events predicted.
