Nepal Army Rescues Hundreds After Landslide Hits Jajarkot District

Kathmandu— Following a landslide in the Risang area of Bheri Municipality-2, Jajarkot district, the Nepal Army has successfully rescued over 300 individuals affected by the disaster on Wednesday. The rescue operation involved collaboration between army personnel from the Bhawani Dal Battalion, other security agencies, and local residents, who worked together to move survivors to safe locations. In addition to rescuing those stranded, the team recovered the bodies of four deceased individuals and provided assistance to eight people injured in the event.

Rescue Operation Details

A team from the Bhawani Dal Battalion was deployed specifically for search and rescue efforts following the landslide. Working alongside other security agencies and local community members, they were able to reach over 300 affected individuals and transport them to safety.

The army team also provided medical attention, rescuing eight injured people from the disaster zone.

Casualties Confirmed

Tragically, the landslide resulted in four confirmed fatalities. The Nepal Army team was able to retrieve their bodies as part of the ongoing rescue and recovery operation. Authorities have not yet released details about the identities of those who died.

The Nepal Army continues to monitor the situation in Jajarkot and provide support to affected communities.
