Kathmandu— A road accident along the Kathmandu-Hetauda highway in Nepal’s Makwanpur district claimed one life and left five people injured today, August 18th. The incident occurred at Jurikhet within Bhimphedi Rural Municipality when a vehicle traveling from Kathmandu to Hetauda fell approximately 60 meters down a hillside. Authorities have confirmed that Laxmi Badu died while receiving treatment at Chhauni Hospital, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
Details of the Crash
The vehicle involved in the crash was registered with Province 3-01-002 Jha 5183. Police received notification of the incident this morning and immediately dispatched a team to the site. Among those injured were Gokarna Dangi, 57, of Tulsipur Sub-metropolis-9; Tara Datta Badu, 51, of Dasharath Chand Municipality in Baitadi district; his son Ritendra Badu, 31; Rita Badu, 31; and the vehicle’s driver, Chhuni Lal Chaudhari, 32, from Rapti Municipality-8 in Dang district.
Victims Identified
Laxmi Badu, wife of Tara Datta Badu, died while undergoing treatment at Chhauni Hospital. Gokarna Dangi has been identified as the chief judge of Parsa High Court and Tara Datta Badu as the registrar for the same court. The injured individuals have been transported to Bhimphedi Hospital for medical attention.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, seeking to determine the cause of the vehicle leaving the roadway.
