Kathmandu— China will not proceed with the launch of its Chang'e-7 lunar probe within the previously scheduled timeframe this year, according to an announcement from the China Manned Space Agency on Sunday. The decision follows a comprehensive assessment indicating that the mission does not currently meet necessary launch criteria. The agency emphasized that the postponement is rooted in a commitment to ensuring the mission’s reliability and ultimate success.

Launch Postponement Confirmed

The China Manned Space Agency confirmed Sunday that the Chang'e-7 lunar probe will not be launched during its planned window this year. The agency stated that the decision was made after careful evaluation of launch conditions.

Emphasis on Mission Reliability

According to the announcement, the postponement is a result of prioritizing prudence and reliability in order to guarantee absolute mission success. The agency did not specify which conditions were unmet, but highlighted its commitment to a successful outcome.

No new launch date has been announced at this time. Further updates will depend on future assessments of mission readiness.
