Nepal Army Airlifts Hundreds After Bhotekoshi River Flash Flood

Kathmandu— A flash flood in Nepal’s Bhotekoshi river has prompted a large-scale rescue operation involving the Nepali Army, which has airlifted 336 affected individuals from the Rasuwa district since this morning. The disaster impacted areas including Timure, Dhunche, and Mailung, and also led to the rescue of 45 foreign citizens representing six different countries. Approximately 4,000 Nepali Army personnel are currently engaged in search and rescue efforts, providing medical assistance, and distributing relief supplies.

Rescue Operations Underway

Nepali Army spokesperson Rajaram Basnet confirmed that the army is coordinating all rescue operations following the Bhotekoshi river flood. The focus remains on locating and assisting those injured by the flooding, delivering immediate medical care, and ensuring affected communities receive necessary relief materials.

The evacuation efforts have successfully moved 336 people to safety, alongside the 45 foreign nationals who were also caught in the disaster.

Foreign Nationals Among Those Rescued

The flood impacted citizens from six countries, prompting a multi-national rescue effort. Forty-five foreign nationals were among those evacuated from the Timure, Dhunche, and Mailung areas of Rasuwa district.

Rescue and relief operations are ongoing as authorities assess the full extent of the damage caused by the Bhotekoshi river flood.
