Xi conveyed his deep sorrow on behalf of the Chinese government and people to those affected by the tragedy, emphasizing China’s commitment to assisting Nepal in its rescue and recovery operations.

Expressions of Sympathy

In a message to President Poudel, Xi Jinping expressed deep condolences to the victims and sincere sympathies to bereaved families, the injured, and those residing in the disaster-stricken areas. He acknowledged the severity of the mudslide and its impact on both sides of the border.

China’s Rescue Efforts

Xi noted that China is actively engaged in searching for missing persons, relocating affected individuals, providing medical treatment to the injured, and working to minimize further casualties and prevent secondary disasters. The Chinese government has pledged to provide support and assistance to Nepal “to the best of its capability.”
