Kathmandu— U.S. President Donald Trump threatened more military action against Iran, signaling a prolonged conflict as the U.S. presses for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Kuwait reported responding to drone attacks from Iran while a tanker was struck in the strategic waterway. Israel also carried out heavy strikes on Gaza after Hamas agreed to disarm.
U.S. Threatens Further Military Action
Speaking at Camp David, President Trump said the U.S. will hit Iran “very hard” until they can’t take it anymore. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt charged that Tehran broke a truce agreement and attacked commercial ships and American soldiers. The State Department issued new security alerts for Americans in 10 countries due to escalating tensions with Iran.
Kuwait Responds to Drone Attacks
Maj. Gen. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, spokesperson for Kuwait’s Defense Ministry, said the drones hit “a number of vital facilities,” including a government structure in the country’s north. No casualties were reported. The British Navy confirmed that a tanker was struck and an explosion occurred near another vessel in the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman.
Israel Strikes Gaza After Hamas Disarmament
Intense Israeli strikes killed at least four people in central and northern Gaza, wounding dozens more. The strikes followed evacuation warnings by Israel’s military, which said it had struck Hamas targets across the territory and dismantled five storage facilities. Palestinians received the news with both hope and skepticism.
