Nepal Ministry Aims to Create 100,000 Jobs This Year

Kathmandu— Minister of Youth, Labour and Employment, Ramji Yadav, announced today that the government aims to create employment opportunities for one hundred thousand people in Nepal this year. The Ministry has developed twelve action plans under the National Employment Program, including the ‘Green Job Mission’, to achieve this goal.

Stranded Citizens Rescue Efforts

The ministry is also focusing on rescuing Nepali citizens stranded in various countries due to lack of official documents and visit visas. Yadav informed the Industry and Commerce and Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee that rescue efforts are underway, with the welfare fund being utilized for repatriation.

Amending Foreign Employment Act

Yadav highlighted the amendment to the Foreign Employment Act aimed at making it more contemporary. A task force has been established to combat fraud related to ‘free visa’ and ‘free ticket’ schemes, which often mislead job seekers.

Online Complaint System

To address complaints from individuals who have fallen victim to scams under the guise of foreign employment opportunities, the ministry has implemented an online complaint system. This initiative aims to provide a more effective and accessible platform for those seeking redressal.
