Both men had reportedly been avoiding contact with authorities since committing the alleged fraud.

Details of the Alleged Fraud

Nawin Lama is accused of deceiving three individuals out of Rs 1.4 million by falsely guaranteeing them lucrative employment in Malaysia. Ramesh Reule allegedly defrauded one person of Rs 300,000 with promises of a job in the United States. The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office mobilized a police team to apprehend both suspects after they had gone into hiding.

Arrests and Background

Lama is a 37-year-old resident of Mandandeupur Municipality-12, Kavrepalanchowk, while Reule is a 50-year-old from Sharada Municipality-2, Salyan. The Central Police Newsroom confirmed the arrests and indicated that an investigation into the full extent of their alleged activities is ongoing.

Authorities have taken both suspects into custody as investigations continue.
