Kathmandu— A Ukrainian drone strike targeting the southern Russian city of Krasnodar overnight Monday resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to seven more individuals, according to regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev. The attack also impacted residential buildings and a warehouse belonging to e-commerce company Ozon, causing a significant fire. Authorities reported that two adults were hospitalized as a result of the incident.
Overnight Attack Details
Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev described the strike as “a massive attack by enemy drones” on Krasnodar, a city located near the Black Sea coast. The primary target was a childcare center, where two children were killed and seven others injured. Apartment blocks in the area were also reportedly hit during the barrage.
Ozon Warehouse Impacted
The e-commerce company Ozon confirmed that one of its warehouses in Krasnodar sustained a direct hit from a drone, igniting a large fire. The company stated via Telegram that all employees had been safely evacuated from the facility prior to or during the incident.
Authorities have indicated they will release further details as the investigation into the attack progresses.
