Kathmandu— A road accident in Galyang, Syangja district, Nepal claimed the lives of two people and injured seventeen others on Thursday evening. The incident occurred when a passenger jeep en route to Sangliya village from Galyang Municipality-3 lost control at the Karadi area. Authorities have transported those critically injured to a hospital in Palpa for further treatment.
The Accident
The accident took place on Thursday evening as a passenger jeep was traveling from Galyang Municipality-3 towards Sangliya village. According to police, the vehicle crashed in the Karadi area of Galyang. Two passengers died at the scene.
Victims Identified
Police have identified the deceased as 25-year-old Nisha Pachbhaiya and 60-year-old Yam Bahadur BK, both residents of Galyang-8. Seventeen other individuals sustained injuries in the accident. Police spokesperson Ramesh Dutta Awasthi confirmed the identities of those killed.
Injured Receiving Treatment
Authorities report that Basanti Bishwakarma, 27, and Devi BK, 48, are in critical condition. The injured have been transported to United Mission Hospital in Palpa for treatment, while five others were discharged after receiving care at Galyang Municipal Hospital. Remaining patients continue to receive medical attention in Galyang.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by local authorities.
