District officials have been instructed to relocate people from high-risk, low-lying areas to safer locations while continuous information is being shared with citizens potentially affected by further flooding. The response includes deploying security forces, medical teams, and helicopters to the impacted regions.

Road Closures and Safety Measures

Authorities have halted vehicle operations on key roadways including the Prithvi Highway, Galchhi–Nuwakot–Rasuwa Syafrubesi Road, and Muglin–Narayangadh Road due to ongoing flood risks. This decision was made following instructions from Prime Minister Balendra Shah to prioritize public safety in potentially affected areas. The focus is on preventing further incidents and ensuring the safe movement of rescue personnel and supplies.

Multi-Agency Response Underway

Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, and district administrations are working alongside the Nepali Army to expedite search and rescue efforts. Two Nepali Army helicopters equipped with medical teams have been dispatched to the flood-affected areas, and additional private helicopters are on standby for deployment. The district-level disaster authority has also increased its activities in response to the crisis.

High-Level Coordination of Disaster Relief

A meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) is currently underway at the Home Ministry, coordinating the national response. Prime Minister Shah has convened a meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management to further discuss strategies and resource allocation for effective disaster management.
