Kathmandu— Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel contacted Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Wednesday morning to discuss the devastating flash floods impacting areas along the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. The President requested the full mobilization of state resources for search, rescue, and relief operations following the disaster, which has resulted in both casualties and property damage. The conversation occurred as President Paudel sought updates on the situation and emphasized the urgent need for intensified efforts to aid those affected by the flooding.

Presidential Response to Disaster

President Paudel expressed deep sadness over the loss of life and property caused by the flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River. He immediately contacted Prime Minister Shah to receive updates on the unfolding situation and offer guidance.

Call for National Mobilization

During his telephone conversation with the Prime Minister, President Paudel specifically urged the mobilization of all available state mechanisms to support search, rescue, and relief efforts in the affected areas. He stressed the importance of a swift and comprehensive response to address the immediate needs of those impacted by the disaster.

Broad Appeal for Assistance

Beyond government resources, President Paudel also appealed to political parties, social organizations, security agencies, and the general public to contribute to the ongoing rescue and relief operations. This call for widespread support underscores the scale of the challenge posed by the flooding and the need for a collective effort.

The government has yet to announce specific details regarding the extent of damage or the number of casualties, but efforts are underway to assess the situation and provide assistance to those affected.
