Kathmandu— Vehicular movement has partially resumed on the Prithvi Highway in Nepal after being disrupted by debris from a flash flood that occurred on August 26. Two-way traffic was restored at the Baireni road section Tuesday, but sections near Pokhari Khola, Bange, and Galaudi remain limited to one-way passage as of today.

Flash Flood Damage

The Prithvi Highway experienced significant disruption due to debris, moraine, and boulders carried by the flash flood originating from Bhotekshi. The event on August 26 caused widespread damage, blocking traffic flow and impacting connectivity in the region.

Authorities continue to monitor conditions along the highway and work towards fully restoring two-way traffic in the remaining affected areas.
