Energy Minister Shrestha Arrives in Trishuli for Flood-Stricken Hydropower Project Inspection

Kathmandu— Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha arrived in Trishuli, Nuwakot, on Sunday to oversee the inspection of flood-affected hydropower projects and assess ongoing rescue efforts. He commenced discussions with Home Minister Sudhan Gurung at a military training center in Trishuli, where Gurung has been coordinating rescue operations.

Briefing from Nepal Army Officials

Senior officials of the Nepal Army provided Minister Shrestha with an update on the progress of the rescue operation inside the tunnel of a hydropower project. The briefing aimed to inform Shrestha about the latest developments and challenges faced during the rescue efforts.

Political Adviser's Presence

Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Asim Shah accompanied Minister Shrestha on his visit to Nuwakot, indicating a high level of political attention to the flood situation and its impact on hydropower projects in the region.

Next Steps for Inspection

Following the briefing at Trishuli, Minister Shrestha is scheduled to travel by helicopter to the rescue site in Rasuwa. There, he will inspect ongoing operations and meet with families of the victims affected by the flood.
